Hey all, I will be renting a car in Liberia and heading up to Nicaragua before going to Nosara. I know I have to tranfer the rental car - but any other tips for crossing the border - to make it as easy as possible. Also anyone know what I should expect to pay for the Alamo car change and any other costs involved with going into Nica or coming back to CR. Thanks.
Unless things have changed recently, you won't be able to bring the rental vehicle across the border. You'll have to exchange vehicles at the border. Drop off the car at Alamo, and the Alamo representative will help expedite you through the border crossing. They will have a rep from the San Juan del Sur Alamo office waiting for you on the other side, who will help expedite you through the Nicaraguan border crossing. Then, same thing heading south.
