Krelwear Fashion Show at Estancia de Nosara

While risks are often taken on big waves and late drops here in Nosara, one will typically not take the chance of hanging a man boob out on the catwalk. But as we all found out at the Krelwear fashion show last Thursday, fashion risks can pay off in fun times and amazing photos.

With almost 300 people in attendance, Nosara’s hottest ladies and men had a chance to don fashion wear designed by world famous designer Karelle Levy of Krelwear, a fashion designer who clothes some of the worlds hottest celebrities such as Pink, Christina Ricci and Cameron Diaz. The threads included edgy throwback wear with neon stockings and blacklights as accessories. The fashion was something right out of South Beach, nothing that Nosara has ever seen before and it was stunning!

Some of the models included a super stoked Prado from Surfing Nosara, Harry, Sam and Becky from Innocent Surf School, Mateo from Solo Bueno, Jacob, Tinis, Lisseth, Daina, Ashley, Margarita, Marcia from Refugio del Sol, Liza and many of Nosara and San Jose's most beautiful men and women.

In between sounds of “I like the cars that go boom” and other amazing high school jams you could hear wolf whistles and cat calls that were excitedly cheering on the models as they popped, locked and dropped it towards the pool and across the catwalk. The Nosara crowd was pumped to see such an event taking place right in our backyard jungle.

The idea of a fashion show is an age old one, but the idea of a show of this caliber in Nosara was anything but old. It was something that came about as just an idea for a local girl to get some of her city girls from Miami to come visit her in the Nosara wilderness.

Nina Arias started talking to her friends Karrelle, Daria and Adriana a few months ago and they decided that they could definitely make this event happen. So, Nina chose the venue, Estancia Nosara Private Club, planned when and how the event would be executed, promoted it across the whole area (and worldwide on Facebook, of course), then fun part began and we were all rewarded with an incredible show!

Karelle, Nina and their girls went through some meticulous planning for the show. They had to decide what would be worn on the catwalk and what else they would have to bring with her from Miami to outfit the models in her infamous style to make this the most epic show ever to come to Nosara. The girls also had to bring along plenty of raw Krelwear fabric and a sewing machine so that they could set up their unique, on the spot designing sessions dubbed “Krel2Go”.

In the two days following the show Innocent Surf School and the Yoga House hosted the Krel2Go events. With many beautiful colors and styles of fabric and the sewing machine set up, Karelle put her famous seamstress skills to work for many of the local residents so they could take home their piece of custom Krelwear.

Krel2Go is completely unique in both philosophy and execution in the way that Karelle has brought about a style of high end fashion that embraces the flaws and is done on the spot with fabrics that are hand woven by Karelle herself. With Krel2Go you walk in with a smile and leave with a garment that is right off of the pages of Elle Magazine.

Karelle even does designer clothes for children, and a few two-year-olds will be parading around Nosara with Krelwear dresses on for years to come.

The Krelwear fashion show was an event that many will not soon forget and everyone is hoping to see the girls here again soon. Well, and to be honest, we are all ready to see a plethora of beautiful women and Samlander decked out and in full form again. Another show like that can't come soon enough! Hopefully, the girls will decided to make Nosara a home for fashion shows for years to come and who knows maybe this town and it's people will inspire Karelle to come out with Krelwear's "Jungle" line.
