Pancho's Restaurant and Bar Playa Pelada in Nosara Costa Rica

Pancho’s Restaurant links the beach communities down here in this friendly stretch of Costa Rica just as seamlessly as the lush jungle houses hundreds of different plants and animals. Pancho’s is a hotel, restaurant and market located a couple minutes by car in Pelada, and the Surfing Nosara unofficial poll says it is probably the home of the best burrito in the known universe. In fact, if you come to the Nosara area or even Costa Rica and don’t get a wet burrito at Pancho’s, your trip is woefully incomplete.

Pancho’s Restaurant keeps a Costa Rican vibe by situating the dining area in an open courtyard filled with river rocks and native plants.  Sitting at one of the tables feels like you found an oasis, and once the food hits the table Pancho’s that feeling is confirmed. Surfing Nosara recommends the burrito, of course – whether you get it with chicken or beef is up to you.

Nosara visitors and Costa Rica natives also have to decide if they want the red or the green sauce, but you can’t go wrong any way you choose it. The price is right, too – at about seven dollars a wet burrito with beans and rice will fill up even the hungriest eater.  Pancho’s menu covers enchiladas, pizzas, burgers, excellent tacos and a full bar and means that this place has a little of something for everyone in your group.

The prices at Pancho’s range from about five dollars to a max of fifteen for the most expensive menu item, and the above-average beer selection means that everybody can enjoy the bliss of a great burrito and a cold beer for fewer than ten bucks. Nosara and Costa Rica would not be the same without Pancho's – and Surfing Nosara wants to make sure you make the short trip to Pelada to grab some food and some more good times when you come down to Costa. The fact that Pancho's TV is always playing movies, surf videos or MTV means that you can get a little free entertainment after that huge and tasty burrito introduces itself to your stomach. The Costa Rican traditional siesta isn't far off, so wander back to your bed in Nosara, Pelada or Guiones after a trip to Pancho’s and get a feel for Costa Rican pura vida with a nap on a full and happy belly.
