College Group Volunteers for the SNF!

Thank you to our volunteers from Moorpark Presbyterian Church, California!!

In January 2010, college students Allie Piehn, Scottie Batstone, Logan Blount, Brittany Kahle, Laura Paul, and Melissa Johnson, in coordination with the Buxton family of Nosara/Moorpark, CA, flew down to Nosara to help the SNF. With paint trays, brushes, rollers and tarps in tow, they selflessly dedicated four days of their vacation to help us complete two ongoing projects: Comedor Las Delicias, and Project Limpieza.

The group spent three days painting the inside of the new bedrooms, bathroom, and the exterior of the new lunchroom in the Las Delicias school....with the help of the local kids who attend the school. The children were very anxious to lend a hand....fortunately there were plenty of brushes and rollers to go around. Most of the paint made it onto the walls!

The groups last volunteer day was spent painting the 18 large metal trash bins of Project: Limpieza, which have since been distributed to each local public school. Most schools had no prior large trash receptacle, attributing to the garbage strewn about their schoolyards. We hope that these new bins will incite a change!

And if their time, sweat and energy wasn't enough, the group donated $100 towards future Foundation projects!

From all of us at the Surfing Nosara Foundation.....THANK YOU!! Thank you Allie, Scottie, Logan, Brittany, Laura, Melissa for spending your vacation with us! Thank you Jonathan, Cory, Sol, Kieran, and Belen for coordinating and housing the volunteers! Thank you to Moorpark Presbyterian Church for sponsoring the wonderful volunteers, and extending your mission and reach to our community.

We hope to see you all again soon!!
