Project: New Roof
School: Centro Educacion Nutricion (CEN) Nosara Preschool
Start Date: July 3rd 2010
Project Specs: The CEN Preschool, situated between Cruz Roja (Red Cross) and Fuerza Publica (Police Station) in the Nosara Pueblo, desperately needs a new roof. The original tin roof from the mid-1960's is slowly rusting away.
To Do: Coordinate with CEN to find parent volunteers with construction, purchase supplies for new roof
The Gods smiled upon the CEN with sunshine this July 3rd, after weeks of rain, to allow for the construction of a new roof on the small preschool building. After weeks of preparation: from the design plans of Thom Bolas, visits to coordinate with the school governing body (JUNTA Educativa), a donation from a generous unnamed sponsor, and several trips to the hardware store, Materriales de Construccion de Nosara....the stage was set. With clear skies the new roof should be complete by Sunday, July 4th. We have a lot to celebrate!
