February 18th - Offshores blowing hard, waist to chest high.

Nosara Costa Rica Surf Report

Buenos dias folks! Well, we still have swell in the water, unfortunately the wind is being quite the nuisance this morning as it gusting offshore at about 20mph. It is running about chest high with some bigger sets, but that wind is knocking it down a bit and making it really hard to paddle into. There are some fun waves coming in though if you can get into them with all that spray flying in your face. If the wind lays down a bit in the early afternoon it could get really fun as the tide starts to fill back in. So, stay on your toes and keep checking it! Looking ahead, it does seem as if this swell has started to fill in as the current has definitely picked up out there, and that is usually a sign that there is swell pushing in.

We have a new feature for you folks today in the blue box below. It is called Curious Gorman Asks the Locals. SN Correspondent Ryan Gorman hits the dirt here in Guiones and asks some of the famous locals the same question. Everyone wants to know the down low about a town when they go on vacation, right? So, what better way to find out the real deal then asking the locals themselves. They always know the best spots, and through my travels my motto has always been to go where the locals go. And, from what I have found their suggestions rarely disappoint. So, this week the question is: "Where is your favorite place to eat in town and what do you like to order?" So, I hope you enjoy it! Have a great day everyone!

Pura vida,
Ryan
