June 30th Late Report update - Smallest Day In A Long Time

Nosara Costa Rica Surf Report

James here updating Rich's report. Waves did get better but not until later in the morning. Still some fun waves to play in and good for surf schools. Swing by the office to browse all of our photos. We are here until 4. You can also book a private shoot with photos or video. Below is Rich's Early Report, thanks! .......

Good Morning Everyone,

Thanks for checking out the site. Today the surf is running in the waist to stomach high range early this morning with the approaching low tide. We had some pretty strong rains last night & we're having some morning sickness out there that will hopefully clean up a bit over next hour or 2 before the wind gets on it. The surf is smaller than it has been in probably a couple months... I don't think that is such a bad thing though as we've had pretty big surf for several weeks & it will be nice to relax a touch & let those sore muscles heal a bit. Lots to still do here in Nosara too between massages, yoga & zip lines, good restaurants so get out there & check it out. James will be in later with the updated surf report so check back in a couple of hours for the good stuff.

Let us know anything at all we can do for you with your upcoming trip or if you just have questions about the Nosara area. Send an email to: info@surfingnosara.com

Have a good day,
Rich

June 29th - Late Report update- Dropped lke a rock...grab the longboard!

Nosara Costa Rica Surf Report

James here updating Ryan's early report with some late report photos. Waves have dropped off greatly but looked super fun and clean. Swing by the office before 4 to browse all your photos. Get them before you leave town, thanks. Below is Ryan's Early report........

Good morning folks! Well, the surfed dropped significantly overnight and is now running in the waist to chest high range with the occasional shoulder high set. It looks like a December morning....clean, glassy and beautiful. So, get out there before the wind ruins it! If you have been itching to ride that longboard after the last few big, powerful days we've had recently, well then today is the day! Grab the small wave equipment because there are some nice, long lines and it is looking a bit soft and mushy. Those conditions should continue as we move toward the high tide, at least until the wind comes onshore. Yesterday it was still really fun mid morning with light onshores, but then the wind picked up around 11-11:30 and made it pretty messy. So, get out there and give yourself enough time before that happens today!

If you need anything from us, shoot an email to Info@SurfingNosara.com. We'd love to hear from you! Also, don't forget to drop in to the office, say hi and check and see if James got any photos of you. Have a great day!

Pura vida,
Ran

June 28th Late Report Update- Still couple feet overhead on the sets

Nosara Costa Rica Surf Report

James here updating Rich's report with some late morning photos. Surf improved today around 9:00am , still well overhead and the best conditions I've seen in the last few days. Swing by the office to browse all your photos. We are here until 4. Get them before you leave town, we are in the process of updating nosaraphotography.com but internet is slow. Below is Rich's Early Report Thanks! .......

Good Morning Everyone,

We've still got overhead surf out there on the sets with the occasional section lining up. There are a bunch of closeouts though so try to find a corner if you can. We've had a pretty long run of larger surf this month. I know I've gotten my bell rung a couple times on the bigger days. But when there is size it only takes one good one to make your day. Too bad Erik is out of town as he's generally the one always wanting bigger surf & we've certainly had that.

Water clarity might have improved a touch but still a little murky compared to normal due to the strong rains we had a couple days here. Size is definitely smaller than the past couple of days & more manageable paddle. Still might want to eat your wheaties though as some of the sets still have some juice.

Anyways, get out there if you can... It is a beautiful morning & there are some fun ones coming through. Stop by the office in the afternoons to check out your surf photos.

Peace,
Rich

June 27th - Late report, head to double over on the sets

Nosara Costa Rica Surf Report

James here with an update, waves almost double overhead on the sets. Fun drop but closing out down the line. Swing by the office before 4 to get all your photos. Get them at a discount before you leave town in the office, thanks! Below is Ryan's report from this morning.

Good morning and happy Monday! We have some fun looking surf out there this morning and sunny, blue skies to go with it! It is in the head to double overhead high range on the bigger sets and is pretty glassy with a slight offshore breeze. The paddle out is pretty tough though. It is about mid tide right now, but it's still a little bit fast and dumpy with the way our sand bars are working right now. So, you still have to be in the right spot, but if you are you will be rewarded with some really fun rides. It should get a little less closed out as we move closer to the high tide, but get on it before the wind does!

Hanzel and James are down on the beach shooting, so stayed tuned for their updated report in a few hours. Also, drop by our office to check and see if they got any shots of you out there!

If you need anything from us or have any questions regarding real estate, vacation rentals, building or just general Nosara inquiries, drop us a line at info@surfingnosara.com. Have a great start to your week!

Ryan

June 26th - Overhead With Occasional Sections To Be Had

Nosara Costa Rica Surf Report

Late Morning Update: My first session around 8:15 or so had a 20 minute paddle out & in between duck dives I saw Christophe get one of the bigger cover ups I've seen in Guiones in quite some time. He was going right & a big closeout section was in front of him about 50 meters away. He pulled in anyways & after a second or 2 turned straight out & squeezed through this little hole in the closeout. Was way overhead & he was claiming that one & hoping for witnesses. After duckdiving another 50 times & finally getting outside we were laughing about how the one day we don't have photographers on the beach is when that happened.

After the church service on the beach I paddled out one more time about 10am. The waves were more manageable but still punchy, & at least 1 or 2 waves per set had a line & not a total closeout. Took me only 15 minutes to paddle out that time. Still wasn't fun... The people who paddled out south of main beach towards the cemetery reported a much easier time getting out there. Serena Brooke & Sharky paddled out to get some footage before she leaves town tomorrow. Was fun getting to surf with her. Pretty humbling too... Paz - Rich

Happy Sunday Everyone,

After some pretty heavy rains last night the sun is busting through & we're on our way to a beautiful morning here in Guiones. Surf is running overhead, breaking really strong, with the occasional section out there if you're in the right spot. Loads of closeouts & thumping waves for the brave... I think it is going to improve throughout the morning so long as the wind cooperates. Keep your eye on our wave cam & that will keep you posted. The water is pretty dirty with all of the rain so photos are not the blue water paradise you think of when you think of Costa Rica. Regardless, there's surf so get out there if you're in town & have some fun. We should have fun waves all week so long as wind cooperates... Past couple of days have been not so good weather wise so we're due for some good luck.

Stop by & say 'hi' when you're here & check out your surf photos. Our office is just to the right of the Banco Popular in Guiones. If you need a hand setting up your trip let us know. We can set you up with the best rental homes, condos & hotels in the Nosara area. Some really good summer specials going on right now... Send an email to info@surfingnosara.com & I'll get back with you quickly.

Stay safe out there & have a great time!

Peace,
Rich
