I'm a retired Forest Service smokejumper. I fought fires for over 40 years, but still have my knees and back - kinda. I started surfing in Daytona Beach in 1967 when I worked for the beach patrol, and surfed in Florida, California, and Hawaii over the years. My last home was on the North Shore, and I had a fairly private, secret spot I could surf almost every day in the winter. I discovered CR through a friend who has a place in Tamarindo. So, I've been coming here for years to surf and finally bought a place near the Cafe. I arrived just this November, and I'm really loving it here. It's even better than I expected.
