Casa Nautilo is a home with 4 bedrooms. The house can sleep 8 comfortably, the architecture inspired by the golden mean and the spiritual connotations of the chambered nautilus, Casa Nautilo grew from a desire to create a home that would complement the unspoiled beauty of Nosara and as a tranquil setting in which Nosara’s gifts could be received. Completed in January 2018 after three years of design and construction, Casa Nautilo is now ready to welcome guests.
Costa Rica’s natural wonders surround you here; the jungle’s tangled mesh in which the monkeys play to the east, pasture land stretching toward the hills to the south and to the west sunsets that fill the horizon in ever-changing hues which can be seen from every room in the house or while cooling off in one of the two infinity pools. 100 meters away a private path leads to the most secluded stretch of Playa Guiones where the tide pools beckon and a short walk northward leads you to the town’s shops, cafes, and restaurants. If your cares and concerns have not been set to sea by day then drifting to sleep to the sounds of the surf in a moon-dappled bedroom should do the trick. Welcome to paradise.
The main house has 3 master bedrooms with en-suite baths. The north upstairs bedroom (Cielo) is connected through a shared bathroom to another bedroom (Coco) which sleeps 3 (one queen bed and a bunk bed) The south master bedroom (Margarita) features a glass shower and a large soaking tub with views to the ocean and sunset. The main floor master bedroom (Azul) has sliding doors opening to the deck and pool. The master bedrooms can accommodate either twin or king beds. The master suites have large decks for lounging, quiet and efficient ceiling fans and floor to ceiling glass doors and screens allowing for cooling ocean breezes at night. (air conditioners in every room if necessary).
The central thatched roof “rancho” that flows to the large deck and infinity pool offers a gathering place for indoor/outdoor lounging, dining, and entertaining. A floating spiral staircase made of local Guanacaste wood leads to a breezeway overlooking the rancho and the master bedrooms.
The kitchen features a large comfortable seating/ lounge area and an island that can accommodate 6 for casual dining. The appliances are of the highest quality as are the locally handmade cabinets and furniture. The washer/ dryer are located beside the kitchen.
From the main house, a path winds past the outdoor showers under a canopy of palms to the smaller plunge pool beside the casita. Designed with privacy in mind the casita is the perfect “getaway”. The main floor has a fully equipped kitchen, powder room and dining area with french doors leading to the private deck, pool and lawn. The couch in the living area is a comfortable sleeping option for two people; two twins that can be securely fastened to create a king.
The floating outdoor staircase leads to the casita master bedroom with a large terrace, floor to ceiling glass doors and screens, vaulted cane ceiling, four-poster canopy bed, mini fridge and bar area, and an expansive bathroom.
