Surf Synopsis

What’s up everybody!! Austin here with Wednesday February 22’s update!  The combo swells have been treating us well the past couple weeks, and it looks like there's some more to come this week.  WNW and SW swell pick up for the second half of the week, with another smaller pulse of SW next week.  Size backs down for awhile after that, but there could be some more out the back.

The Forecast

For the end of this week, we've got some waist to head high+ combo swell on its way out of the SW (215-225) and NW (295-300).  Both new swells should start picking up today, building to a peak Thursday and Friday.  Wave heights at the  most stand out spots could be in the overhead+ range, but most typical spots will be probably waist to head high.  Size will start backing down Friday through the weekend to smaller knee to chest high size probably.

Next up we've got a couple of smaller days before another pulse of waist to shoulder high SW (215-225) starts to build on Sunday.  The swell should peak on Monday with periods around 13-14 seconds, possibly showing some sets in the head high to overhead+ range as well.  This second swell isn't looking quite as good as the first, but the lack of WNW could be playing a big part in that.

After that it looks like smaller mixed southern hemi background swell, with stand out spots in the knee to chest high range for a few days.  The next swell is pretty far out on the models, and leading up to it is a mostly zonal pattern in the Southern Ocean.  The little pulse due for the 4th, wont be in the books till after this weekend.  the 108 hour models are suggestin a little spinner south of the Pitcairn Islands quickly kicking up a fetch and spitting some small+ size swell at Central America.  A lot could happen in the next 5 days though, so I'll have to report more next Wednesday.  Stay tuned.
