Hola Amigos!
A few questions.
I'm in Carrillo and plan to come up to Nosara for day trips. I'm going to take the bus. When I get off the bus, how far is it to the beach? What's the best way to get down there? Thumb it?
I'd like to bring a day pack with water, etc. Is there someplace to lock up my stuff?
Is there a certain time that the last bus toward Nicoya leaves?
gracias,
edouardo
Excellent. Thanks for the tips. Hope to see you guys and gals tomorrow morning.
How was your trip to nosara? You get some waves?
We need to get the guard back at main beach... I miss that guy
We have the security guards down there but I miss our guy from last year also. I think his name was Marcos, right? He is back in Quepos I think.
Good to know there is security at beach. Does Nosara Beach have lifeguards? Saw one place to rent boards. Any other recommendation where to rent and daily cost? Any recommendation where take a surfing class? We plan to be at Nosara July 25 and 26, 2010.
You can rent boards from a bunch of places, most notably being Coconut Harry's surf shop (right when you come into town, across from Cafe de Paris) and Nosara Surf Shop (on the road down to the beach on the right hand side). Both have a great selection of boards and both charge about the same. I am not sure of exact prices, but they are around $20-$25 a day depending on the board, I think. There is also a deposit that you must put down with your credit card. As far as surf lessons go, we reccomend Nosara Tico Surf School (on the main road down to the beach, their office is in the last building on the right before you get to the beach entrance in Plaza Guiones). Also, Safari Surf School does daily lessons and they are run through Nosara Surf Shop. Best of luck and safe travels!
You will pass through the town of Playa Garza, about 10 more minutes you pass through Esperanza, then past the Nosara Yoga Institute, another 500 m and have the bus stop in front of the Cafe de Paris.
When you get off the bus it is about 500 - 600 meters straight down to the beach. Easy walk.
During the day there is usually a guard posted at that main entrance who might be willing to watch your stuff for a tip, as well as up the beach about 100 m north, there is a little palapa hut where the guard from the Harmony Hotel usually sits.
If all else fails, perhaps the nice folks at the Zen Cafe will let you stow your stuff there (150 m towards beach on right side when you get off the bus) if it is during slow season hours of 10-2.
Last bus to Nicoya leaves around 3:30 in front of the Cafe de Paris. Be there a little early to be safe.
Buena Suerte Mop.
