Morning folks! There is definitely still swell in the water today in Guiones and it is running about chest to head high with some overhead peaks coming through. The wind is pretty stiff offshore as of report time around 8:30 and it should stay offshore for most of the day like it did yesterday. So, there are some nice long, clean lines out there. We are approaching a high tide right now so it could get pretty fun mid-morning. Looking ahead, it looks like we will have some swell leftover for the next couple of days and the winds should stay offshore as well.
Our feature today in the box below is all about Nosara Wildlife Rescue, which is a partnership between Brenda Bombard with Refugio Animales de Nosara & Steve and Vicki Coan at Sibu Sanctuary. They all work together to help rescue injured, orphaned, or displaced animals and provide them with rehabilitation and eventual release back into the wild. A lot of their work is with the Howler Monkeys, that have been injured and/or orphaned as a result of the electrocution by the power lines here. Please read the article and watch the video to learn more about what they are doing here to make it a better environment for our wildlife. Also, mark you calendars for this Friday, January 29th because Nosara Wildlife Rescue is holding their 2nd annual Save the Howler Monkeys Benefit and Auction.
